I can confirm the second batch of 25 made it to production as I've just bought number 001 of 25 (or is it 26 of 50?). I'll be picking it up next week.
The plaque does say 001 of 25 and as far as I know only three made it to Italy (where I live). Can't wait to track down its UK number-sake.

I have heard this rumor as well from a pretty official source and am looking forward to placing an order if it all comes together, hopefully two, for the Jim Clark edition Elise SC. Based upon the better than expected equipment and value of the 60th Anniversary Edition Elise, I think Lotus has gotten the formula correct for building successful and sought after limited editions. The Jim Clark Type 25 (now CT50) and the 60th Anniversary Edition Elise are tapping into the ethos of the Lotus enthusiast. Last years, limited editions were not so much the case because of little pricing/value advantage offered to buyers and poor release timing.
